osCommerce is an online shop and e-commerce platform that offers a wide range of features and allows online stores to be setup fairly quickly and with ease. The osCommerce framework is a secure and stable e-commerce environment that allows complete customization to meet your individual needs.
The store has two separate environments you will need to be comfortable with: the "user" environment and the "admin" environment.
User Environment
- This is the online store that is available for public viewing. To see this, just enter the web address of your online store. For example: http://www.joesonlinestore.com
- Here you'll be able to experience the store as a user and see exactly what your customers will see.
Admin Environment
- This is the area of the online store that only you will have access to. This is where you go to add products, change prices, etc...To get to this area, just type "/admin" after the web address for your online store. For example: http://www.joesonlinestore.com/admin
- You will be prompted for your username and password before you can enter this secure area.
